222 Computational Fracture Mechanics for Advanced Composite Materials

Frans Van der Meer, Delft University of Technology
Pedro Camanho, University of Porto

This minisymposium will address challenges in modeling the inelastic deformation and fracture of fiber-reinforced composite materials. Challenges include progressive failure, fatigue, ageing, and impact. Advanced modeling techniques applied to composite materials, including phase-field, cohesive zone models, damage mechanics, level-set, and multi-scale approaches, will be discussed.
