908 Reliability of Aircraft Structures

Mark Gurvich, United Technologies Research Center

The mini-symposium is focused on probabilistic assessment of a broad range of aircraft structures in uncertain service conditions. Both fundamental general methods and specific examples of practical implementations are considered. Among other topics, papers are especially encouraged in the following directions:
* Assessment of structural integrity with very low probabilities of failure;
* Efficient modeling of random load, usage and environmental conditions;
* Stochastic fatigue modeling of aircraft structures;
* Impact/ballistic modeling of aircraft structures as random phenomena;
* Multi-scale methods developed specifically for probabilistic assessment;
* Integration of probabilistic modeling with statistical input characterization;
* Simplified "engineering" methods of probabilistic analysis and assessment.
